It's the season for baby farm animals! If the live cam is blocked at your school, look for a video of the animals beneath it.
Who's who in the horse stall? Lena is the mare (mom); Sunny is the bigger foal, a colt (boy) with a star on his forehead; Angel is the smaller foal, a filly (girl) with the white blaze down her face, like her mom : ) The foals are grown now. The videos are still fun to watch!
Here is a video of the foals, Sunny & Angel, playing at 3 days old : )
Twin foals are very rare! Sunny & Angel are healthy, but are only about 1/2 the size of a single foal born at full-term. Angle needed to have splints put on her legs to prevent them from bowing. The splints are a bit awkward, but they do not hurt and she should get used to them quickly. They explain this well in the video below.
UPDATE 4/29: Angel got her splints off, then Sunny had to have splints put on! But he got his off today, and both foals are doing great. Yay!
What is it about chickens that always makes me smile? Here we've got a chicken yard with goats. Watch out for your speaker volume- these chickens are loud!
